Arne RSPB

Wareham, Dorset, BH20 5BJ

Arne RSPB, Wareham, Dorset, BH20 5BJ reserve is a 563.4 hectares nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest, maintained by the RSPB and located in Dorset. It was notified as an SSSI in 1986. There is a variety of special wildlife to see. In summer look out for Dartford warblers nesting in the heather, nightjars flying at dusk and as many as 22 species of colourful dragonflies. The reserve overlooks Poole Harbour where you can watch thousands of wading birds, ducks and geese including avocets, black-tailed godwits and brent geese in winter. Avon Heath Country Park

Avon Heath Country Park, Brocks Pine, St. Leonards, Ringwood, Dorset, BH24 2DH  is a park run by Dorset County Council. It boasts 580 acres of internationally important heathland and is home to unique and rare wildlife. Some of the rarer species to look out for are Sand Lizards and Smooth Snakes, Dartford Warblers, Woodlarks, Nightjars and Silver-studded Blue butterfly, Yellow Bartsia, Deptford Pinks and carnivorous sundews. Enjoy a visit by exploring one of the miles of way marked tracks and Heathland Discovery Centre. The gravel and sandy tracks have slight inclines. Moors Valley Country Park

Moors Valley Country Park, Horton Road, Ashley Heath, Nr Ringwood, Dorset, BH24 2ET or officially Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, is a Country Park situated in Ashley Heath, Dorset on the border with Hampshire. There are 13 disabled parking spaces in the first car park loop, near to the ice cream kiosk. There are many paths and way-marked trails at Moors Valley covering a range of terrain and habitats.
