Description of Habitat & Facilities
The reservoir is now undergoing a major redevelopment in that the water capacity is being increased by as much as 30%. The Essex Wildlife Centre is still open at the moment but will eventually be relocated at a higher level together with the removal of the hides. So, amidst the work going on there is still opportinities for bird watching from the two causeways straddling the reservoir, as well as a one hide available.
